Apex Legends Mobile to shut down
1 month 3 weeks ago

EA and Respawn announced that they will be shutting down the mobile version of Apex Legends, just 8 months after the game was launched. It is a huge shock for the mobile esports industry.

The CEO of Electronic Arts quoted, “Despite this strong start, the ongoing experience was not going to meet the expectations of our players. After months of working with our development partner, we have made the mutual decision to sunset this version of the game.”

The announcement was made on 31st January 2023. All operations will cease on 1st May 2023 across all regions. Players have got only 3 months to play the game before EA disbands the server. It is a huge shock as the mobile version of the game was just released last year in May. No one would have thought that this would happen.

The developer disclosed that it would not be providing refunds for real money purchases as per the terms of the EA User Agreement. Players can contact third-party platforms like Google Play Store and Apple App Store for other refund requests from where they have purchased the content.

The CEO of EA, Wilson also mentioned stopping the development of Battlefield Mobile after they released the beta version in some of the regions.
